postheadericon Cause of an Acne Outbreak

Introduction

Acne will affect more than 50 million people in the United States today. However even with the large number of people affected, mostly teenagers, there are a number of myths or old wives tales on the causes of acne.

Once you understand the real cause of acne, you can easily dispel these myths and prevent an attack of acne and even stop acne with confidence.

Where Acne Comes From

Researchers have determined that acne is a result of a hormone imbalance in the body. This hormone imbalance is caused by puberty, which is why teenagers have a majority of acne problems, and stress.

A hormone imbalance results in an increase amount of sebum (oil) being secreted by the skin. This sebum will cause dead skin on the face to clump together block the pores.

When the pores are blocked, it creates an oxygen-starved atmosphere that allows bacteria to grow. When the bacteria start to grow, the body’s immune system attacks the bacteria resulting in inflammation or acne.

Where Acne Does Not Come From

When I was growing up and in my teen years, I was bombarded with things I should not eat so as not to develop acne. Such foods as chocolate, French fries or any greasy types of foods were out-of-bounds for me to eat, all because my mother thought I would develop acne from consuming those types of foods.

But with the findings that acne is a result of hormone imbalance in the body, these foods were determined not to be a cause of acne. Of course this was after my teen years and my risk of developing acne was significantly reduced.

postheadericon Side Effects During Accutane Treatment

Since 1982, dermatologists have prescribed accutane for the treatment of severe, scarring acne. Over the years it has been used successfully by many patients, but also has been broiled in quite a bit of controversy due its side effect profile. Here are a few side effects patients may experience while on accutane:

1. Accutane will make you feel very dry! Dry lips are very common while on accutane and many patients need to use vaseline or another lip balm during treatment.

2. Dry, itchy skin may occur while using accutane. Most patients improve with the use of a good moisturizer cream.

3. Some patients develop a sunburn more easily while using accutane. Don’t forget to wear your sunscreen!

4. Many patients experience dry eyes. Some contact lens wearing patients struggle while using accutane, but with regular use of saline eye drops most can continue wearing contacts.

5. Some patients may experience nosebleeds. This is due to the dryness of the nasal passages. Regular use of saline nasal spray or vaseline can often improve this.

6. Your skin might be sensitive and can scar more easily while on accutane. For this reason, do not have cosmetic procedures during and for 6 months after taking accutane.

7. Some patients experience muscle or joint aches. If minor, ibuprofen products are often helpful.

postheadericon Acne Secrets

As much as people inflicted with a case of acne, or even a few stray pimples, seek out acne secrets for a cure, the disappointing truth is, there is no secret cure. Although most cases of acne are harmless medically, they can be extremely damaging to one’s self-confidence and make them self-conscious to the point of appearing to have other issues.

Even though acne is well known to usually appear during puberty, when hormone imbalances are present and body changes affect most children going into adulthood, facial acne infliction can still break down the self-confidence of these young adults. And because of this self-consciousness, many of these early teen children react in ways that can make matters worse, as they search for a quick fix. Squeezing out the infected pore, and applying medications that will over dry the skin, will only leave skin in poor condition, with scarring and damage for a very long time.

With so much information available on the internet in this day and age, most adolescents realize there are no acne secrets. It shows them a dedicated daily cleansing program and good diet is the best defense against this condition that affects so many of their peers. It also allows them to see that they are not alone in the development of this condition, especially within their age group. But what most people will find surfing the internet for a cure for their acne, is a plethora of advertisements for acne treatments. The internet is a breeding ground for anyone who wants to claim anything to try and sell their product. While there are a few products out there that can provide temporary relief, most don’t work at all. How do you find the few that work, and save your money on testing the hundreds and hundreds of products on the market today? Well one easy answer would be to consult your dermatologist. Also remember that anything that sounds too good to be true, usually is!

postheadericon A Natural Treatment For Acne

There are many treatments on the market for acne and the use of argan oil is becoming more and more popular. Argan oil is one of nature’s most powerful beauty products and it has been used for hundreds of years in Morocco and has been a secret of women in Europe for a long time. This oil is very light, so it gets absorbed quickly by the nails, hair and skin. It contains a high amount of Vitamin E and fatty acids which are good for the complexion.

Argan oil plays an important role in solving psoriasis, eczema, and acne due to its healing properties. It also has the ability to help lessen aging effects such as fine lines and wrinkles as well. There are many misconceptions about oil on the face. Many people believe that it is important to strip the face of oil. However, it is a fact that using noncomedogenic oils like argan on the skin may help to regulate the skin’s oil levels and lessen blocked pores and decrease acne breakouts.

Many individuals search for a natural solution for acne breakouts. Many topical creams can cause excessive dryness and red blotches, while oral medications may cause birth defects and other negative health reactions. Argan oil is obtained from the nuts off of the argan tree and therefore has no negative side effects.

Normally, the sebaceous glands make oil which is used to help the skin stay moisturized. It lubricates the skin as well. Acne occurs when the glands make too much oil. This causes the pores on the skin to clog up which becomes a place where bacteria collects leading to pimples.

postheadericon Over the Counter Acne Treatments

Acne treatment and over the counter acne products all have their place and time in our life. We need to understand the type of acne that we have and then determine which acne treatment is going to give us the most bang for our buck. When choosing an acne product it is best to choose a smaller dose to first try out the validity of the acne treatment and whether our not it is going to cure acne that we are presently suffering from. Below we will look at 2 cures for acne, and the acne treatment effectiveness with each.

Acne Products with Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is normally applied to your face in a gel or a creme form with a concentration of around 2.5 %. This works by killing the bacteria in your skin that produces acne and pimples. It is well known in the industry as being one of the most effective acne treatment products that you can buy. It is important however for you to know that the larger dose of 5-10 % should be worked up to. Your initial acne treatment should consist of the recommended amount of 2.5%. postheadericon How to Get Rid of Acne to have Clear Skin?

How to get rid of acne is a popular question, since nearly 60 million Americans suffer from this common skin condition. Many people believe that acne outbreaks affect only teenagers and young adults, but that is not true. Adult acne is also popular and can affect anyone in their 30′s and even 40′s. So, knowing how to prevent pimples is a great tool to have in your acne toolbox. But before we get into the tips, let’s discuss what causes acne and the levels of severity.

What causes acne?

Acne is triggered by clogged hair follicles in the skin. Usually, hormones have sebum or oil produced in the hair follicle and has it discharged through the open area of the follicle and then onto the skin’s surface. However, at the same time you have dead skin cells, which tend to dry up the sebum and the bacteria blocks the opening of the follicle, which causes the sebum to build up. This inflames the pore and a pimple is born.

It sounds quite complicated, but meaning in short is that the pore becomes filled with oil and bacteria grows, which irritates the pore.

Levels of Acne Severity

Acne is broken down into four groups, one being the mildest and four being the most severe.

Group 1: usually consists of just a few small pimples scattered about. Blackhead can also be seen. This level of acne can be successfully treated with over-the-counter products. If group one is untreated, it can lead to the next level.

postheadericon Effective Acne Solutions That Clear The Condition Permanently

There is nothing worse than suffering from an acne outbreak which does not seem to clear up, especially after going through several treatment regimes. Most people go wrong when it comes to clearing acne outbreaks by ignoring the condition until it worsens. The first step to finding effective acne solutions is to find out what causes the condition, and how to permanently get rid of the outbreak.

How acne outbreaks develop

It is astonishing that most people who suffer from acne have never bothered to find out what causes the condition. There are a number of reasons why an individual may develop the condition; teenagers who enter puberty are prone to developing the outbreaks and people who suffer from excessive production of sebum are also likely to develop the condition. Notably, newborn babies and toddlers may also develop the outbreaks due to exposure to their mother’s androgens; during the birth process or during the process of breast-feeding.

Different types of acne that people develop

The other popular misconception about the outbreak is that it affects people uniformly. The outbreaks may appear on different parts of the body; the condition commonly affects the cheeks, chin, forehead, neck, back and in some instances the pubic region. Regardless of the region affected, the outbreak may be characterized as white heads or black heads; depending on the cause of the outbreak.

postheadericon Want an Acne-Free Lifestyle?

There are some things that you can get by praying or wishing for it a lot, but there are also things that will not happen no matter how hard you will them to. One of these is having an acne-free lifestyle that requires nothing from your part at all. You cannot achieve this, but the closest thing that you can achieve is no acne with your own action towards it. What kind of action is required? It’s not as complicated as going through surgery to remove every acne problem on your face. Your action may involve just as little as using the best acne cream, and nothing more.

The best acne cream turns out to be a very effective product against acne, provided that you use regularly. The best acne cream also requires that you make sure that your hormonal changes are not making the problem worse. You are also recommended to use a product that regulates the oil production of your face, but make sure that this does not work against the best acne cream. There are so many exfoliating acne creams out there that you have to avoid. A little exfoliation here and there is healthy, but it’s not that easy to manage and the wrong dosage can seriously damage your skin.

postheadericon Keep Your Acne Problems in Control

There are some things in life that we cannot control. For example, you will not know when the next earthquake will happen, so you have no choice but to try to survive it when it strikes. However, this does not mean that you should always be unprepared. Even when you do not know when to expect disaster, you should always be prepared with tools and skills to save you. The same thing is also correct when you are dealing with acne problems. You won’t know when it will attack your skin precisely, but you can read the clues and prepare with the perfect acne treatment for when that time comes.

You should know that acne problems are dependent on your hormonal change. Women tend to have more acne in synchrony with their periods, while boys tend to go through this phase during their puberty years. If you are not on those stages anymore and you still get acne, don’t fret. It is probably because of the overproduction of oil from the sebaceous glands, which is supposed to help flush out the impurities from your pores. The problem is when the pores are clogged by these impurities.

Once a pore is clogged, it will swell, redden, and itch on the surface. Those are the symptoms that you have to watch out for. If you experience these, you better get ready with a good acne treatment. You don’t have to wait around for acne to take you down. You can fight it on a continued basis when you use a good acne treatment. With the right product, you don’t have to suffer from any acne problems in the future again. And the good news is that even existing acne scars can also be removed, leaving your face looking as flawless as ever.
